Denia
is a city on the east coast of Spain. It lies between Alicante and Valencia in the north of the Costa Blanca. Tourists appreciate the 20 km long sandy beach, which transitions into a rocky coastline near the Las Rotas district. For hikers, the Montgó Natural Park is ideal, named after Denia's local mountain of the same name. At 753 m high, it's a typical layered mountain that rises solitarily into the sky and culminates at Cabo de San Antonio (lighthouse).
Best travel times by activity:
* Beach holidays & water sports:
June to September are the hottest months (often >30°C, sometimes >40°C in July/August) and offer the warmest water temperatures.
* Active holidays (hiking/cycling):
Spring (March–May) and autumn (October–November) are ideal, as it's not too hot (above 20°C).
* Those seeking peace and quiet:
The off-season, especially May and October, offers fewer tourists while still enjoying warm weather.
* Festivals & Culture:
In March, the "Fallas" (spring festivals) are a highlight, and in August, the "Moros y Cristianos" (Moors and Christians) festival.
